The Xbox Core package is the cheap Xbox 360 package that contains only the 'bare bones' equipment that you will need to play a game in the most basic manner and nothing else, it is aimed at people who want a cheap Xbox 360 package and do not want the extras that come with the full package. For example you could buy a memory unit for saving games as these are cheaper than the hard drives but they do not offer the size of functionality of the hard drives, we do recommend buying the full package is it contains lots of useful equipment and is still good value for money even though it is around £50 more expensive as the extra equipment included is worth well over £50 and all is useful.
The Xbox 360 Core system comes with the Xbox 360 console, a wired controller and the composite TV connection and SCART adaptor, this is everything that you need to play Xbox 360 games in the most basic fashion and you can always buy extra equipment later like the hard drive so if a cheap Xbox 360 is your main priority then the Core system is the best choice, keep in mind though that the full system does offer better value as the extras included are very useful.
