Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive

One of the problems with the Xbox 360 is that it cannot play high definition DVD's even though it can display HD gaming content and so it is a huge relief that Microsoft have released the HD DVD drive.

The HD DVD Drive is an add-on drive and so does not replace the drive in the Xbox 360, it instead sits next to the console connected via USB and allows you to watch the glorious HD quality DVD's High definition DVD's look much, much better than the standard DVD's and if you have an HD television you will definitely want to watch HD DVD's

The fact that the Xbox 360 does not have this drive as standard makes the console so cheap and much cheaper than the PS3 for example that has an HD drive built-in. So the external drive gives you the choice of if you want an HD DVD drive and if you do not then you do not have to pay for it which in our opinion is very good. Also keep in mind that a stand alone HD DVD player will cost much more than the Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive and so it really does offer an amazing value for money.

Keep in mind that the Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive does not play Blu Ray discs and instead plays the HD DVD discs with most movies being released in both formats.
